The article discusses the origin of noun/adjective syncretic forms in the Uzbek language and its use in modern Uzbek. In particular, the lexical-semantic distinction of noun/adjective lexemes, the formal similarity of the adjective lexeme to the noun lexeme, but the aspects of being able to express a syncretic meaning different from the content. will be revealed.
